A predictions card turns New Year's Eve small talk into a guessing game you settle a year later. Every square is something that could happen to someone in your friend group in 2027: an engagement, a baby announcement, a new pet, a big trip abroad, a job change, a cracked phone screen. Each guest writes a friend's name on the squares they think will come true, signs the card, and hands it over to be sealed in an envelope. Next New Year's Eve, you open the envelope and find out who knew the group best.

2027 predictions bingo card tips
Ask for names, not checkmarks. A square that says someone gets engaged is more fun when a guest commits to who, and a card full of named guesses makes next year's reveal worth the wait. Limit each player to one name per square, and let them leave a square blank if they have no idea.
Set a few house rules for sensitive squares. Baby announcement and someone gets engaged can land badly if a friend is dealing with fertility struggles or a breakup, so the host can agree with the group to skip naming people on those squares, or just guess 'someone in this room.' Keep it playful, not personal.
Decide on the reveal date and the scoring before anyone writes. A simple version: one point per correct name, and a bonus point for a full line that all came true. Write the rules on the envelope with the year and the players' names, so nobody argues twelve months later about what counted.
Give one person custody of the envelope, ideally the friend who hosts every year or never loses anything. A photo of every card in the group chat is a good backup, since envelopes tend to vanish during a move, and moving to a new home is on the card for a reason.
Expect the small squares to decide the winner. Big events like a promotion at work or a home renovation may hit one or two friends, while a cooking disaster, a cracked phone screen or a loaf of sourdough bread can happen to anyone, so everyone has a fair shot at points and the reveal isn't only about who had the biggest year.
Best for
Ages
Adults and older teens, 16 and up
Group size
4 to 20 friends, playing together at one gathering
Duration
15 minutes to fill in cards on New Year's Eve, plus a reveal one year later
How to play
No caller: players mark a square when they see the item around them. The first full line wins, so keep the cards until the end of the trip or the walk.
