A Friendsgiving potluck runs on improvisation: chairs borrowed from the bedroom, coats piled on the bed, three people who all brought mac and cheese. This bingo card makes a game of it. Squares show what turns up when friends cook for each other in a small apartment, from the store-bought pie and the green bean casserole to the folding table, the floor cushion and the group photo. Pass out cards with the drinks and let guests mark squares as dishes land on the counter.

Friendsgiving bingo tips
Pass out cards before the food arrives, since many squares are dishes. Marking Deviled eggs or the Slow cooker as each guest walks in gives everyone a reason to ask who made what, which helps when half the room has never met.
Count Mismatched chair and Floor cushion only for seats actually in use. A chair carried in from the bedroom counts; one stacked in the corner does not. The Folding table counts once food is on it.
Keep the Store-bought pie square kind. The point is that nobody at a potluck has to bake from scratch, so mark it with a cheer, not a raised eyebrow. Mac and cheese works the same way: the third one to arrive still counts.
Time the Group photo for the moment everyone sits down, while the table is still full. Prop a phone on a shelf with the timer on so the host gets to be in the picture too. Check with anyone who stays off social media before posting it.
Give prizes that use what is already there: first pick of the Leftover containers, a second slice of Pumpkin pie, or skipping the dishes. Announce it early so guests know what they are playing for.
Best for
Ages
21 and up, suited to young adults and mixed-age friend groups
Group size
6 to 14 guests in a small apartment
Duration
From the first guest to the leftovers, about three hours
How to play
No caller: players mark a square when they see the item around them. The first full line wins, so keep the cards until the end of the trip or the walk.
